You can reach us at this address for any questions about data protection.
This policy describes which personal data we process when you visit bytec.ag, send an enquiry through the form or book an initial conversation. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, for example to visitors from the EU, we rely on the preparation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) or your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
Our website is hosted by a provider in Switzerland. When you visit it, the server stores technically necessary information such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser type in log files. We use them only to keep the website running and secure.
To understand how our website is used, we use the visitor statistics service Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia, servers in the EU). Plausible sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and creates no user profiles. It records, in aggregate, the page visited, the website you came from, country, device type and browser, as well as clicks, for example on «Book a call», on email addresses or submitting the form, without its content. Your IP address is used only briefly to create an anonymous identifier that changes daily, and is not stored. We cannot identify you from this data. For visitors from the EU, we rely on our legitimate interest in an understandable and well-functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use advertising tools.
To display the website, we load fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). This transfers your IP address to Google; a transfer to the USA is possible. The reason is our legitimate interest in a consistent presentation. More: policies.google.com/privacy.
When you write to us via the form or by email, we process your details (name, company, position, phone, email, address, area of interest and message) to answer your enquiry. The form is sent to us as an email through our server. To prevent misuse, the server logs the time and IP address of the submission. In addition, your browser solves a small computing task from our server when you submit, without any data going to third parties; for this we store your email address for 24 hours only as a checksum to prevent mass submissions.
We record enquiries and appointments in our customer relationship management system (CRM). It runs on the Supabase platform with data stored in Zurich.
You will only receive invitations to webinars and events via WhatsApp or SMS if you tick the box for this in the form. We store the time, page and wording of your consent in the CRM. You can withdraw it at any time by replying «STOP» on WhatsApp or by email to info@bytec.ag. We send SMS via a Swiss SMS provider and WhatsApp messages via WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.).
For online booking we use Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA). We only load the calendar on our page once you click «Show available times», «To the calendar» or «Book an initial conversation with me». These buttons carry a note on Calendly. From then on, Calendly sets cookies and receives data such as your IP address. When you book, Calendly processes your details (first name, last name, email address, company, position, your answer about the workflow and the chosen time) and passes them on to us.
Calendly is certified under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We have a data processing agreement with Calendly. The legal basis for loading the calendar is your consent; for the booking, the preparation of a contract. More: calendly.com/privacy.
We hold initial conversations via Google Meet (Google Ireland Limited). When you take part, data such as name, email address and IP address as well as video and audio are processed, to the extent you switch them on. We do not record calls. More: policies.google.com/privacy.
We only set one cookie ourselves, when you switch language (name «nflang», stored for one year), so that the website remembers your language. If you close the language hint, your browser remembers this until the end of the session. Your entries in the calculator and in the AI Opportunity Check stay in your browser and are only transmitted if you send an enquiry yourself. Calendly cookies are only set after one of these clicks. The Plausible visitor statistics set no cookies.
We do not sell personal data. We only pass it on to service providers who process it on our behalf: hosting and email in Switzerland, Calendly, Google, Supabase and Plausible (visitor statistics, EU). Some of them are based in the USA or the EU. Transfers to the USA take place on the basis of the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law. We usually delete enquiries that do not lead to a collaboration after two years.
You can request access to your data as well as its correction, deletion or restriction. You can object to processing, withdraw consent at any time and receive your data in a common format. To do so, write to info@bytec.ag. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with a data protection authority in your EU country.
We adapt this policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
